Production Coordinator/HR Support – Erie Plant
Reports To: Manufacturing Manager
The Production Coordinator supports daily manufacturing operations by coordinating follow-up actions, tracking open items, and helping ensure production priorities and deadlines are achieved. This role serves as a key coordination resource for the Erie Plant and functions as a lighter version of a traditional Production Supervisor. The position provides communication support between plant leadership and the production floor, strengthens accountability for open issues, and helps improve operational visibility through consistent manual oversight and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate production-related action items and follow-up activities to help ensure targeted deadlines are met.
· Track open work orders, part numbers, and assigned follow-up items provided by plant leadership and communicate status updates as needed.
· Serve as a liaison between plant leadership and the production floor, supporting communication flow and escalating issues when appropriate.
· Provide day-to-day coordination support to improve visibility to plant priorities, unresolved issues, and pending actions.
· Support plant leadership as a primary administrative assistant while also assisting the HR Manager with interview coordination and other general administrative tasks.
· Maintain trackers, follow-up lists, and related records to ensure action items are documented, communicated, and completed.
· Help address supervisory coverage gaps by providing structured coordination, manual oversight, and follow-through on plant priorities.
· Take on additional coordination responsibilities as the role expands with plant needs.
Position Summary
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; no college degree is required for this position.
· Post-secondary coursework or additional training is helpful but not required.
· Experience in a manufacturing, production support, operations coordination, or administrative support role preferred.
· Experience in human resources required.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple follow-up items and deadlines at the same time.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Comfort working across office and production floor environments.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality, use sound judgment, and escalate concerns appropriately.
· Proficiency with common office software, spreadsheets, and tracking tools.
· Strong attention to detail and a consistent follow-through mindset.
Working Relationships
This position works closely with the Manufacturing Manager, plant leadership, production personnel, and administrative support functions. The role supports manufacturing priorities through production follow-up, communication, and coordination while also providing administrative support for interviews and other plant activities.
Physical Requirements
This role requires regular movement between office and production floor environments. The position may require standing, walking, and periodic use of standard office equipment. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with office and plant personnel and perform routine administrative and coordination tasks throughout the workday.
Work Schedule
This position is expected to work the standard schedule established for the Erie Plant. Additional time or schedule flexibility may be required periodically to support production priorities, staffing needs, interviews, or other plant activities.
Role Scope and Growth
This position is a critical step in strengthening plant coordination and helping close supervisory coverage gaps through structured follow-up, communication, and manual oversight. As plant needs evolve, the role is expected to expand in scope and responsibility while continuing to improve execution, visibility to open issues, and accountability for completion of key actions.
