PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Sr. Manager, Corporate EHSS is responsible for leading the development, governance, and execution of the company’s global Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) strategy. This role provides enterprise-wide oversight of EHSS programs, management systems, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives across all global operations.
The position partners with executive leadership, site EHSS teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to drive a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence, while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, regulatory requirements, and ESG expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Governance

  • Lead the development and execution of the global EHSS strategy aligned with business objectives and enterprise risk priorities
  • Establish corporate EHSS standards, policies, and governance frameworks across all sites
  • Provide strategic direction to EHSS functional leaders
  • Serve as the primary corporate authority on EHSS risk, compliance, and performance

Program Leadership & Execution

  • Oversee global EHSS programs, including:
    • Safety & injury prevention
    • Environmental compliance and sustainability
    • Chemical safety and hazardous materials management
    • Incident prevention and investigation
  • Drive enterprise-wide initiatives to achieve zero-incident performance and continuous risk reduction
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of EHSS programs across diverse global facilities
  • Ensure EHSS alignment with ESG strategy and sustainability reporting needs
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support environmental performance tracking (energy, emissions, waste, water)

Management Systems & Compliance

  • Support implementation of ISO-based management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001)
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, corporate, and customer requirements
  • Maintain visibility and accountability for EHSS risks, audit findings, and corrective actions
  • Serve as escalation point for regulatory incidents and high-risk issues

Auditing & Performance Management

  • Oversee the global EHSS audit program, including planning, execution, and closure tracking
  • Drive accountability for corrective actions and sustained compliance across sites
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting for EHSS performance
  • Present EHSS performance, risks, and trends to executive leadership and corporate committees

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate enterprise EHSS risks
  • Lead incident reviews and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Promote continuous improvement in work practices, engineering controls, and safety culture
  • Drive standardization and best practice sharing across sites

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach, and develop corporate EHSS team members and functional managers
  • Partner with site leadership to strengthen EHSS capabilities and accountability
  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, HR, Supply Chain, Finance)
  • Foster a strong safety culture and employee engagement in EHSS programs

REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 10+ years of progressive EHSS experience, including multi-site or global responsibility
  • Demonstrated leadership of EHSS programs in a manufacturing or industrial environment

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA, or related discipline)
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, ISO Lead Auditor)
  • Experience implementing and managing ISO 14001, 45001, and/or 50001 systems
  • Experience with ESG, sustainability reporting, and customer scorecards
  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and EHSS best practices
