For KYOCERA AVX Corporation we are looking for a Material Handler at our location in Erie

Inventory Control / Material Handler

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Receive, transport, storing, and stage/deliver raw materials and supplies for production. Performs other duties as assigned. May require occasional support for manufacturing shifts other than first shift.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·    Receive, transport, and store raw materials and supplies.

·    Transport raw materials and supplies to and from production areas.

·    Use scales to verify weights.

·    Use KAVX computer systems to:

  • Transact production lot movement
  • Manage raw material inventory and status.

·    Use forklift or pallet jack to transport and store materials.

·    Assist with vault count when needed.

·    Transport and catalog documents for long term storage.

·    Perform periodic inventory cycle counts.

·    Load/unload trucks.

·    May occasionally handle hazardous waste.

·    Perform other tasks as needed.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

·    Education: High School diploma, AS Degree or equivalent required

·    Experience: Previous experience within manufacturing facility preferred.

·    Computer skills: Knowledge and experience in using computers recommended. Familiarity with MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is helpful as this position has a significant data entry component.

·    Math skills include working with negative numbers, decimals, fractions and unit conversions.

·    Verbal/communication:  Able to read and understand technical reports, process specifications, and office correspondence. 

·    Technical skills: Ability to converse across all functional areas within the plant is required. Physical requirements include pushing/pulling/lifting up to 50lbs.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also helpful for this role.
