Manufacturing Manager
POSITION DESCRIPTION
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Manage, plan, and direct all manufacturing activities within the facility. Establish and achieve yearly and monthly production goals, develop and introduce production equipment for output and efficiency targets, and meet targets for EHS activities.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manage production supervisory staff, engineering development groups, and other direct reports as assigned by the Operations Manager. Provide direction to all other plant manufacturing, engineering, and service personnel.
· Develop, manage and maintain production equipment to meet short and long-range business objectives. Manage manufacturing operations to maximum capacity to meet production schedules, quality, yields, cost reductions, service, cycle time, safety, housekeeping, and EEO goals and objectives.
· Determine and maintain proper staffing levels, monitor operator adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, and ensure that all operators are properly trained for their jobs.
· Identify process problems and initiate process improvements. Plan and implement original process methods and changes to maintain long and short-term growth.
· Working with Engineering and QRA, develop new products and processes to support long-range business goals. Design and implement programs to reduce cost and improve quality and reliability.
· Manage and develop all activities for the facility including environmental engineering, production engineering, machine shop, trades, maintenance, and janitorial groups. Set goals and budgets for production, production engineering, and facilities.
· Coordinate technical issues with staff as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field plus 12 years of related work experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field and 10 years of experience
· Must have experience in a high volume electronics component manufacturing operation
· Ability to manage and direct efforts of subordinates to achieve goals
· Ability to create clear and concise reports, organize, and present to all levels of AVX management and key customers
· Experience in setting and achieving quality, reliability, and production goals
· Experience in handling hazardous waste
· Per ITAR Compliance must be a U.S. Citizen.
