Primary Function:

Performs all design phases of software development including internal design, code, test, documentation, and training. Evaluates user request for new or modified programs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Performs systems analysis and design for maintenance and enhancement work.
  • Designs, codes, tests, and documents software.
  • Investigates software problems, formulates resolution, and makes necessary software corrections. Respond to and Resolve systems issues and document in Ticket system.
  • Performs multi-program or systems test and analyzes test results.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling projects.
  • Analyzes new or existing programs/systems to improve functionality and /or resolve business needs'.
  • Writes internal design and program specifications for new program development and/or revisions. 
  • Train users on new or changed functions. 
  • Coordinates and interfaces with technical and operations personnel for problem resolution, efficiency improvements, and implementation of new systems.
  • Keeps abreast of technical advancements through participation in professional organizations, literature, and education opportunities.
  • Gains understanding and develops expertise in department procedures and design methodologies and participates in improvement opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Strong object-oriented programming knowledge (JavX, C#, etc.). 
  • Experience with GitHub preferred. 
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to review and evaluate online screens and printed reports.
  • Ability to document actions taken within systems, outlining root cause analysis within the ticket system.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to think logically and analytically.
