Primary Function

The HR & EHS Manager oversees the human resources and environmental, health, and safety programs. This role will be responsible for ensuring compliance and relevant regulations,  fostering a positive and safe work environment, and supporting the company's overall business objectives. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy. 
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding. 
  • Administer employee relations, addressing concerns and issues in a fair and timely manner. 
  • Manage employee performance, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching and development opportunities. 
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance. 
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records. 
  • Stay current on employment law and HR best practices.

Environmental, Health, and Safety:

  • Develop and implement EHS programs, policies, and procedures. 
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and risks. 
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken. 
  • Provide safety training and education to employees. 
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. 
  • Monitor and track EHS performance metrics. 
  • Collaborate with other departments to promote a safe and healthy workplace. 

General:

  • Prepare reports and presentations on HR and EHS performance. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR and EHS inquiries from management and employees. 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. 

Requirements

  •  Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Environmental Science, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in HR and/or EHS management.
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment law, and EHS regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR/EHS software.
  • Experience with safety audits, investigations, and training programs.
  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications preferred.
