Position Summary

The individual in this position must possess good computer skills and be capable of working in a manifest system similar to that of UPS and FedEx. This individual will be responsible for conforming to customer shipping requirements and international customs requirements. This operator will create documentation that is accurate and complete to assure timely delivery of finished goods for both intercompany and commercial orders. This individual will assign waybill numbers and address labels to boxes containing completed orders, and then scan each box to the correct consolidation staging area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • ·       Duties include working directly with carriers, logistics companies, and customer representatives to ensure orders are shipped according to customer specific instructions.
  • ·       Generate waybills, commercial invoices, shipper’s letters of instructions, bills of lading, and any other requisite documentation for shipping purposes
  • ·       Ensure the accuracy of our shipments with accurate data entry into KAVX systems and various shipping software
  • ·       Prepare consolidated shipments based on customer requirements, using best practices to ensure the integrity of the products being shipped
  • ·       Utilize online applications, websites, email, and phone to coordinate and schedule outgoing shipments

Requirements

  • ·       Education: High School diploma, or equivalent required
  • ·       Experience: Minimum 1 year of shipping or logistics experience.
  • ·       Computer skills: Able to perform simple data entry and use Microsoft Office
  • ·       Math skills:  Able to do basic counting without a calculator
  • ·       Verbal/communication:  Communication skills, both verbal and written, at a level that ensures goals, objectives, and expectations regarding quality and service are met.
  • ·       Technical skills: Must be able to lift heavy boxes up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand all day while working.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills to meet department and customer expectations in a fast-paced environment with recurrent changing priorities.
